The SK Global Scholarship program is designed to provide students from 34 regions—including 19 European countries, 11 Southeast Asian countries, East Asia (Japan, Taiwan - Semiconductors only), and South Asia (India, Pakistan)—the opportunity to study cutting-edge technology and earn a master's degree at Korea University Graduate School.
This program aims to promote international educational exchange and strengthen mutual ties between South Korea and these nations.

This scholarship is for students intending to pursue a master's degree in "Electrical and Computer Engineering (Semiconductors)" or "Information Technology/Artificial Intelligence" at Korea University, located in Seoul, South Korea.

2. Eligibility

To be recommended as a scholar, you must meet all the following requirements.

Nationality

  • The applicant must hold citizenship from one of the 34 regions below.

    • Europe (19 countries): Austria, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Georgia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Ukraine

    • Southeast Asia (11 countries): Timor-Leste, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Vietnam, Brunei, Singapore, Indonesia, Cambodia, Thailand, Philippines

    • East Asia: Japan, Taiwan (Semiconductors/Electronic Engineering field only)

    • South Asia: India, Pakistan

  • The applicant's parents must hold nationality from a country other than South Korea.

  • If the applicant's nationality changes to a country outside these 32 regions during the selection process, they will be excluded from evaluation.

Educational Background

  • Holders of a bachelor's degree (or those expected to graduate).

Language Proficiency (English or Korean)

  • All applicants must submit at least one of the following official language test score certificates:

    • TOEFL iBT 71 or higher (Home Edition & Enhancement scores accepted)

    • Academic IELTS 5.5 or higher (IELTS Home Test not accepted)

    • CEFR Level B2 or higher (CEFR online test accepted: https://www.efset.org/)

    • New TEPS 326 or higher

    • TOPIK Level 3 or higher

  • Applicants who completed their bachelor's degree in English are exempt from submitting language proficiency proof.

3. Recruitment Capacity and Fields

A total of 20 scholars are selected annually; the application period for the 2026 Fall semester is from March 3, 2026, to March 31, 2026.

Electrical and Computer Engineering

    • Computer Engineering (AI/IT)

    • Integrated Circuits

    • Signal Processing and Multimedia

    • Control, Robotics, and Systems

    • Electrical Energy

    • Communication and Networks

Physics

  • Areas of Specialization:

    • Condensed Matter Physics

    • Particle (High Energy) Physics

    • Nonlinear Dynamics and Biophysics

    • Nuclear Physics

    • Quantum Information Physics

    • Quantum Optics

    • Statistical Physics

A total of 10 students are selected from the two fields above (Electrical/Computer Engineering and Physics).

  • Areas of Specialization:

    • AI Applications

    • Software

    • Computer Security

    • Computer Education

    • Wireless Communication Engineering

4. 2026 Recruitment Schedule and Benefits

The recruitment of new scholars for the Fall 2026 (September) admission proceeded as follows:

  • Online Application: March 3, 2026 ~ March 31 (Recruitment Closed)

  • Document Screening Results: Expected in mid-May 2026

  • Final Acceptance Announcement: End of June 2026

Scholarship Benefits (Full Funding)

  • Full Tuition: 100% waiver for 4 semesters (2 years)

  • Living Expenses: 1,500,000 KRW paid monthly (for 24 months)

  • Airfare: Actual round-trip airfare supported (up to 3 million KRW)

  • Others: Settlement allowance, health insurance coverage upon entry, Korean language training support, etc.
